Offboarding from EncryptTitan

If you are canceling your EncryptTitan service, you will need to follow the offboarding steps below before your service deactivation date (i.e. when your renewal expires). Offboarding entails updating your your DNS records and removing the connections between EncryptTitan and your systems. As part of our automated system, your portal will also be shut down by our support team and your data deleted. You will not need to log a support ticket for offboarding.

If you change your mind about canceling the service, please reach out to your Account Manager and/or Customer Success Manager.

To offboard from EncryptTitan:

  1. Update DNS records

During setup, you created an EncryptTitan CNAME record for each of your domains so that messages from EncryptTitan will pass DKIM checks for these domains. You will now need to remove any EncryptTitan settings from your DNS records.

  2. Update SPF records

During setup, you added an SPF record for EncryptTitan, which allows EncryptTitan to send email on behalf of your domain/s. You will now need to remove EncryptTitan from the SPF record for your domain.

  3. Remove connector from Exchange (if used)

If you use Microsoft Exchange, you may have added a connector between EncryptTitan and your Exchange environment. To remove this, open the Exchange Admin Center and go to Mail flow → Connectors. Select the EncryptTitan connector you created and click Delete.

  4. Remove Outlook plug-in (if used)

If you have deployed the Outlook plug-in (add-in) for EncryptTitan, you will need to remove it for all users. To do this, open the Entra admin center and go to Settings → Integrated Apps. Open the entry for EncryptTitan and click on Delete app.

For more information, see Manage Add-ins in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center | Microsoft Learn.

  5. Remove mail flow rules

If you created any mail flow rules related to EncryptTitan on your mail server, remove or disable all of these.

For Microsoft Exchange, this can be done in the Exchange Admin Center by going to Mail flow → Rules.

For Google Workspace, this can be done in the Google Admin Console. Most types of rules are configured from Google Workspace → Gmail → Routing.

If you need any assistance, please log a support ticket.

After completing these steps, new outgoing emails will no longer be encrypted.

On your service deactivation date, our support team will be instructed to schedule the removal of your portal and the deletion of your data.
